I am 5'-8" and I think that you will find that, if you have average proportions, your butt position would be towards the rear of the seat and you'd have a slight (3/4) lean forward, but you'd find it comfortable as I do.
I think you will adapt just fine, especially coming from the Tiger Explorer 1200, especially if it is the previous generation. Based on a test ride that bike was a bit of a dog performance-wise. The RS is not.
You are correct, I've not sat on it. I think it will turn out all right though, I've been reading a ton of reviews on it. Be very curious about the performance, I bought it more for its street credentials, i.e. comfort and ride-ability. Was also considering the new Moto Guzzi but just couldn't do it, a little bit gun-shy from my last one. Anyway, a few more days to wait.
