Just circling back on this. Got my bike back yesterday after having them do this cardan shaft replacement under "warranty" (as it says on the invoice; $0 to me). So, I guess I no longer need to pull out and check my shaft myself every 12k miles as I had said I would do ... or do I?
As expected, my bike rides no differently than it did with the old shaft which had 61k miles on it. Some people say that they feel a difference and I usually smile at that. IMO, if there is a difference to be felt their shaft was just about to fall apart. Just rode it home from the dealer in 41 deg.F weather, though, so didn't go on a long ride, and after riding the Tiger, the RS feels like a rough agricultural beast so feeling anything subtle like a new driveshaft would be a figment of the imagination, I think.
Glad that this saga is done.
