I've been running Metzeler M7RRs on my 2022 RS. I used to run them on my S1000XR before that, and my K1300S before that. We've been doing fewer long distance runs as time has wore on. Used to do back-to-back 600+ mile/day rides, now we consider a good overnight stop in the middle when planning a 500 mile run. Oh well. It's still fun. In fact it seems that I'm enjoying riding more and more as time goes by. Strange. But, before we go on a serious ride, such as when we used to ride from Pugetropolis down to the Sierra Gold Rush in Markleeville, CA, I'd look at my tires and decide I should replace 'em before the trip rather than worry about them while on the trip. I always have a fresh set of Metzelers on the tire shelf at Beecher's place, so I set up a time to get them switched out. I never can brag about all the miles I've gotten out of my tires, but I really can enjoy the roads on our trips.
Average for the K1300S was 4,068 miles with a standard deviation (deviance?) of 640 miles. Average for the S1000XR was 4,814 miles with stdev of 417 miles. Average for the RS so far is 4,958 miles with stdev of 824 miles.
My favorite tire dealer, American Motorcycle Tire, was out of M7RRs when I did my last order, but they had the new (and hopefully improved) Metzeler M9R, so that's what I've got sitting on the shelf. Looking forward to trying them out this riding season.
