1250RS Software Version Thread

...  While that was uploaded the dealer did the cardan shaft inspection and testing since the BMW service records showed it as not done yet and I've got 16,000+ miles. (I had informed the service manager that last September I replaced it as PM since I had a new in the box one sitting on my shelf and that was about 1,250 miles ago.) Surprise result - it failed their testing! ...

Hmmm ... I too have a new one I bought as PM when the price dropped from $1200 to over $200 ... it is still in the packaging (such as it is ... cardboard wrapper). I wonder if that would fail too if used within 1250 miles. Since it is likely the same design as the one they just put in 2-3 weeks ago, who is to say that this new one won't fail the test on their test jig in that time frame. 

This shaft nonsense does not impress, I tell you.
