Hmmm ... I too have a new one I bought as PM when the price dropped from $1200 to over $200 ... it is still in the packaging (such as it is ... cardboard wrapper). I wonder if that would fail too if used within 1250 miles. Since it is likely the same design as the one they just put in 2-3 weeks ago, who is to say that this new one won't fail the test on their test jig in that time frame.

This shaft nonsense does not impress, I tell you.
