I do most of my riding on pavement and have, I believe, my 7th set of Dunlop RSIVs on the bike. That said, I don't spend all my time on pavement.
Not much room under front fender for anything too radical, and companies like Continental have eliminated the 17 inch "mixed use" tires in favor of sizes for more popular "adventure bikes" (think GS). (Warning - old guy comments - Seems like when I was growing up..., all but the track and motocross tires were designed for mixed use. And why is it that corporate folks don't think you can have adventures on an RS?)
So, scheduled to pick up a pair of Pirelli Scorpion Rally STRs in Anchorage next week before heading up to Tuktoyaktuk, NT on the RS. ("Ride what ya got.") (Didn't see these in the survey..., but not expecting to.)
See reassuring review of these tires in video by Grumpy.
GG - saw one guy talking about 6000 miles on these tires - what's your thought?
