Talked to the owner at Gateway for a couple minutes about these issues today. I think it comes down to available and convenient warehouse space and thinking ahead. (E.g., he now has more R18s in stock than any dealer in the world - quite an investment, but sure to attract new customers to his shop. In the short time I was there, they sold 2 for $10,000 each, and 1 for $12,000, reducing inventory to 41, and thanks to BMW incentives, made money on all.)
