Yes that is correct. Pictures displayed on websites do not have to be bit-heavy to convey the detail needed on a web page. You will find that 500 kB is plenty, while larger bit sizes are a waste and actually cost more money to host. When it comes to printing high quality photographs at frame-worthy sizes, however, 500 kB is not enough. Photography and web design were hobbies of mine long before motorcycling.
