I was at the race and it did take the shine of the last race a little, although Michael Rutter still went out in the last race on Dunlops. Brilliant days racing though and wonderful weather on the Saturday which is unusual The extreme conditions the tyres face at this race are immense the bikes are spinning the rear wheel in top gear at 200mph going from Portstewart to Coleraine.
I agree it is not great PR for a tyre company such as Dunlop, I think the other incident with Davy Todd's tyre was a puncture rather than the tyre delaminating. Scary though Michael Dunlop would probably have been doing almost 180mph when that tyre went.
