Definitely visit that SW part of Alberta. That's the nicest section of the Rockies in North America.
Are you thinking of riding across Canada or doing one rental in Eastern Canada and another year doing a rental in Western Canada?

Probably the latter. Top priority is to go to Newfoundland and the Maritimes ... my old stomping grounds. In terms of mountains, Alberta may have the (taller) Rockies but Newfoundland and the Maritimes have the Appalachians, which also make for nice riding / scenery. Riding across Canada would have to be after I retire.
