Apologies if this isn’t the best spot for this question.
Today while heading into work, I accelerated to merge onto the freeway as I usually do. After 2nd gear I will sometimes just use the quick shifter and not manually clutch in. This usually gives smooth shifts, but today it didn’t.
I don’t know exactly how to describe it, but it felt like maybe the clutch was slipping? Like it was accelerating in 3rd then when I shifted to 4th it didn’t catch right away and there was a dip in power. Same thing happened from 4th to 5th. I used the clutch lever into 6th and for the rest of my ride. Everything feels normal, not noticing any other issues. There have been a few times where it’ll find a false neutral in between a higher gear. Idk if that is related or not.
I’m wondering what could have caused that dip between gears while using the quick shifter? It only happens when accelerating. I’m worried about wear to either the clutch or any of the shaft splines. Will I have a costly repair to budget for soon?
The bike is a 2016 with about 22.5k miles on it. I’ve had it since about 4k miles. I have yet to service the clutch or drive shaft.
