Yes...!

Please post pics of your install without the resistors. I'm curious to see what resistors you omitted.

What's installed is what is seen in the above Cyclops link. The resistor pack is not part of what is illustrated - nothing was "omitted" from the product shown.

Thanks for the updated info. I purchased a few of these Cyclops H4's for my R1150RS. They continuously try to increase output and improve beam patterns. (definitely an issue with H4 headlight shells) Now that I have a 1200 I plan on installing these as well. Cyclops will be at the BMWMOA rally in June, if anyone who is there and is interested in the product.

I recently got my RS and the bulbs were the first thing I had to "fix".

I got a pair of Philips Ultinon H7 bulbs (but the previous gen with the mesh heatsink).

The mesh is easy to fit into the gap between the headlight housing and the inside reflector wall. From there I had to make a 14mm hole in the dust cover to put LED lead and the headlight feed cable through (had to pull the connector pins from the headlight plug otherwise I would have had to make an even bigger hole). This bulb has an external "resistor pack" which I strapped to the instrument/fairing bracket. Unfortunately at this point the dash would show an error so I also got the Philips error cancellers.

So now when I switch the ignition on I still get an error but once I start the RS the error goes away and I have lovely bright white headlights.

Testing LEDs before fitting error canceller.

Some gasket sealant to keep things airtight.

Thanks for the input to the thread.

However I had to resize all your photos and reinsert them into your post, since they were uploaded too large, and at least on my computer it was difficult to make heads or tails of what was being shown, what with all the horizontal and vertical scrolling. The goal is to see all of the picture in one shot, without having to scroll. See this sticky post for guidance. Smile

As for the solution - good job. I never saw bulbs with nylon mesh heatsinks before.

Hey Double G, my bad, I'll make sure to resize them next time.

That mesh is metallic, presumably copper.

Great. Thanks for clarifying that the mesh is metallic, although it looks like nylon. Couldn't figure out how nylon would conduct heat efficiently ... Undecided
