BMW R 1300 RS – new sports boxer to be launched in 2025
First technical data for the new BMW R 1300 RS

The new BMW R 1300 RS will be launched in 2025. The first technical data are already available, and the new sports boxer will not only be sportier with the 145 hp. MOTORRAD and designer Kar Lee are already showing what the R 1300 RS could look like.

Boxer revolution: With BMW's R models by the 2025 model year at the latest, hardly a stone will be left unturned. The first new model to arrive at the end of 2023 was the BMW R 1300 GS, followed by the new BMW R 1300 RS for the 2025 model year. The most important technical data of it are now available, but no prototype photos yet. That's why MOTORRAD looked into the crystal ball together with designer Kar Lee to show what the new BMW R 1300 RS could look like, see picture gallery.

New BMW R 1300 RS to come with 145 hp in 2025

According to reports, from April 2025, the latest water-cooled boxer engine with exactly 1,300 cc will also power the new BMW R 1300 RS. With 145 hp (107 kW) of peak power at 7,750 rpm and tremendous torque, a maximum of 149 Nm at 6,500 rpm. This means that the new sports boxer will run at a speed of almost 250 km/h, or 246 km/h to be exact. And the new chassis design is probably also derived from the R 1300 GS: with a main frame made of sheet steel shells and a bolt-on rear made of cast aluminium. In addition, the Paralever single-sided swingarm with integrated cardan, but the RS still has a normal upside-down fork at the front.

The word I've heard from a trusted source is 2025 for the RT, and 2026 for the RS

I would not be surprised as they try and shaft the RS admirers once again. That said, Motorrad Magazine is pretty trusted also, so I would like to think that they are right. Maybe for once the RS would get similar treatment as the RT.  Smile

Let's just hope that whatever design changes are coming it's nothing like the 1300GSA! OMG is that an exercise in hideous! There is however a funny video about the new GSA design floating about the interweb/YouTube.

You know, it's a weird thing but when the first images of the 1300GSA came out I thought the same thing. However, and with the passage of time, and while not having seen the bike in person yet, it has grown on me and I kind of like it ...  Huh

Mind you, I was never a fan of the fat look of the previous GSA. Always preferred the look of the GS over the GSA, and this 1300GS is no exception for me. AAMOF. I think that the current GS is the best looking one yet, funny headlight and all. Smile

I thought we would finally see something official today on the R1300RS and R1300R.
Received a email from Rider Magazine

Quote :The full 2025 BMW motorcycles lineup has been announced, and all models in the announcement receive BMW’s Ultimate Care Break-In Service.

Turns out the article is 2 weeks old and it does not show the full 2025 lineup.
