Hornig Mirror extensions, and fit
#1
I took the plunge and ordered some of the mirror extensions for my new RS.  After waiting the obligatory 3-4 weeks for them to arrive from Germany, I tried to install them this evening.  I found the slot milled for the base of the mirror was about .010 too narrow, so the mirror stem wouldn’t fit with the spacer installed.

Has any else run into this, or am I the only lucky/disappointed one out there?

#Eck  They are an awesome addition and I couldn't be more pleased. I had exactly the same experience.  I sourced some different washers from McMaster Carr that are only 1mm thick instead of the 1.5mm from the factory. They're only available in quantity so I had to buy a whole bag of them which means I have extras. PM me your name and address and I'll mail you the correct size washers/spacers. You'll need 4.
Here's a close up of the mount with the Hornig extension installed.

In case anyone else is in the same situation:
I should have been more clear. If it's regular first class mail then no cost to you. Gratis. If you'd like priority or express then just the actual postage amount the carrier charges for the expedited service.

In case someone wants to source some from McMaster Carr or elsewhere, here's a picture of the bag label showing the specs

The washers arrived today and fit perfectly (I only needed 1 per mount)! Thanks again. We have a wonderful “community” here in “RSwasserboxer” land.
