Managed to load my wounded steed on the truck tonight. Ready for the Saturday morning transport to the dealer for my wheel “makeover” :-)

Correct Lee. That would be my 1970 C10 "perpetual project". Faithfully hauling 2 wheelers since 1990

Well. my RS passed it's final, in warranty, checkup without issue. Left the dealer with the new rim and tire mounted. Then...
Less than 50 yards from the shop, turning left to the highway on-ramp, the front end lets go, pretty as you please. I gathered myself up in time to see my trusty steed, laying on it's left side - in 2nd gear, circling it's way back to me, like some land locked jet ski, lol. Thankfully there were no other vehicles around to worry about.
The amazing thing is the lack of damage from this incident. Because of the design of that wonderful big lump of an engine, and my MAM X-Heads, there was absolutely no harm to anything else on the bike.

Thank goodness there was no injury to you or the bike ... just the MaMo cover. I still say they are the best covers for these boxer engines since they are tough and the rubber underneath is resilient. Better than hard decorative covers. Just wished that MaMo sold them in singles so that one could be replaced as needed.

Thanks GG. As a matter of fact, they do sell left and right separate, for such an occasion as mine, lol.

Must have been a fairly new thing because when I asked them about a year ago (?) they did not have that option. I thought that strange at the time.

Good to hear you or the bike was not damaged.
Another reminder to be careful with new tires.

GG, I’m sure you’re right about that. When I first purchased them, that option wasn’t available.
Lee, I (mistakenly) thought I was being cautious. I guess I’ve spoiled myself by previously only swapping tires in warmer conditions
