Round-the-world in 17 days? Why? And how many days to Deadhorse and back?
#1
As I was debating whether a month was long enough to ride the RS from St. Louis to Deadhorse and back this summer (I mean Google maps tells me it's only 71 h and 4100 miles away...,), I watched the video of Ryan Kluftinger and company circumnavigate the world from Hope, Canada in 17 days.... ("Honey, I'm going take a trip on the bike with a couple of friends, but I'll be back in a couple weeks, or so.")

Although some suffering of Ryan's riding partner and foil, Connor, was kept in the final edits, any indication of hardship on the cameraman or Ryan did not appear - OK, other than watching Ryan - my favorite art history/physics major known for his blackboard mathematical analyses of our sport and machinery - have some delay while doing simple arithmetic..., something about a 36 h day on top of prior sleep deprivation or some other lame excuse.

Anyone here have the urge to ride that hard for that long?  - a question brought up during the video. (Trailer below. Download is $9.99 USD, though they have terabytes of video and audio, which will surely come out in other formats through not only FortNine, but also Ducati.)

In that context - anyone recommend more than a month to run up the Dalton Highway from St. Louis?
