Problem Importing rides into Connected app

I’ve been trying to import some routes that I was provided into my “Make life a ride” app with no luck. When I try to import the .GPX files, they are all “greyed out” and can’t be selected. I’ve tried renaming the flies, saving to different locations, restarts, to no avail. 

Has anyone run into this, and figured out the “secret sauce” to make it work?  I’ve an email into BMW, but I’m not optimistic.
