Wunderlich Tubular Bars conversion

I'm expecting UPS to deliver my Tubular Bars conversion kit from Wunderlich later today. Install tomorrow. I'll report on the install after it's done and, if the weather tomorrow is as forecast mid 50*s F and a 30% chance of it being dry Blank , perhaps I'll get to at least take the 1250 RS for a short ride to see what they're like compared to the stock "clip on" style cast bars.

I have wanted to do that but really need to thin the heard. Looking forward to your observations.

The Wunderlich Tubular Bars conversion kit arrived earlier than expected yesterday so I completed the install. I had already removed the stock bar setup which is easy to do once you consult the shop service manual AND watch the YouTube videos on the process. The Wunderlich  bars are about 1/2 the weight of the standard bars. Removing the switch gear involves several small "hidden" screws that aren't really clearly shown in the Wunderlich provided hieroglyphics like instructions. Of course during the disassembly I managed to drop one of the small screws which promptly found it's way past the cloth covers I had placed over the open spaces between the tank and fairing/dash area! I was able to locate and recover it but only after removing the right side body panels. (Adding some unplanned time to the job) Once I sorted the left side wiring and clutch line placement the install of the Wunderlich bars was no problem. The apparent left side issue was the result of my initially having placed the switch gear too far out on the bars. Once remedied all was relatively right with the world. The hydraulic clutch line is just a tad too tight at full right lock for my liking so I'll probably opt for the Wunderlich 35mm line extender for that side in the near future. No test ride yet since the weather wizards have provided a rainy day. I'm not having any luck posting a picture so I'll do it later. Overall I'm satisfied pending the test ride.

What was your reason for changing to the tubular bars? Would bar risers have helped over the tubular bars?

I had a set of bar risers on and while it was an improvement over stock I wanted to get more upright and improve slow speed handling.
