Hi,

My love for the BMW bikes started about 3 years ago when I exchanged my Goldwing for a K1600GT.

I like to tour long distances and the K feels like a real motorcycle but almost with the Goldwing comfort.

The bug has spread and I now have a 2016 R1200GS Adventure and the newer addition to the stable, a 2016 R1200RS with 8,000 miles and all the factory options with exception of ABS Pro.

Since the bike came in the "naked style" now I need to make it a bit more touring, with crash guards (so I can also put lights), hard cases and a taller windscreen. Any suggestions?

I went with the MRA vario windscreen on my'20 1250 RS. It's much better than stock. Nice quiet air pocket.

Welcome to the crowd! I also have a 16 RS and probably will never get rid of it. As for hard bags I would look at Givi hard bags, https://giviusa.com/pages/bmw.
I had a set years ago on a Suzuki RF900R and they worked well and are well made. Givi also had engine protection bars and a rear rack. I currently use a Givi hard tail bag with the OEM side bags.
