Hey there Guys & Dolls
New to this group and this is my first thread there
I have a 1200rs and really like it. Have an issue with light corrosion on the frame. Thinking about a winter project. Stripping it down to the bare frame and then powder coating it blue (the bike is blue/white) with a black subframe, and rebuilding it afterwards. I can also get some of the engine powder coated as it is flaking in parts.
I can manage basic mechanical work, have good quality tools, a Haynes manual and over the winter some time off the bike.
The question is what would be the man hours involved? I have asked at a local mechanic/powder coaters as they mentioned they had done it before on a GS but the price seemed too high. I presume the quote was a "we don't want to do it, but if you pay us over the odds, we'll do it" price.
Anyway, any one done this and any (sensible) thoughts
Thanks in advance
Spence
