Hello from Houston (Cypress) TX
#1
Hello,

Just agreed to buy a friend's 2016 R1200RS.  Should have it within a few weeks.

This will be my second BMW owner experirence.  Previous was a 2008 R1200GS.  It's gone now.

I'll be searching for information on the bike and will ask questions as they arise.

I've got lots of research to do regarding the electronics as most of my history has been with older bikes without rider type electronics.

Thanks.

Welcome to the Forum Community and to RS ownership. This is a very good place to ask your questions as they arise, but first feel free to browse the various sub-forums as the questions may already have been addressed. I am a bunch of friends were first on this site and we all started with the 2016 R1200RS so there is good experience here.

Also check out the forum's parent website (I know it drastically needs updating ... I will get to that one of these days) which was intended to be a one-stop source of information for all things RS -> https://rswasserboxer.com

Thank you.  Bike is getting a full service and software updates along with some new tires as it had been sitting a while.  It has a whopping 2450 miles on it.

I am looking forward to the first ride.

Did you take it to Wild West? If so, and as a matter of interest, I wonder if their Service Department is more approachable than their Sales Department ...? Dodgy
