Hi folks,

Chuck Fralick here (crf59). Just bought a new 1300RS (Option 719, ASA, Brooklyn Grey) and was looking for a forum where I could find tips, etc.

I am a now fully retired after 23 years as a US Navy officer and 23 as a corporate chief technology officer. Loving being retired (not sure my wife is...). 

I've had literally dozens of bikes and have been riding over 50 years but this new RS is only my second BMW. Love the new engine and getting used to the ASA.

I live in Northern Virginia, so ride lots of historic backroads close to me, Skyline Drive, etc. In fact, riding Skyline Drive as my first trip on the new bike next week.

Anyway, happy to be here and hopefully l learn a lot from the folks here.

Thanks for the great introduction, Chuck. Welcome to the Forum Community.

Not too many R1300RS owners here yet so you and the few others can take the lead and share your experiences. From the brief test ride I had I was pretty impressed with the refinement since my 2016. Still not too sure about the ASA but it could grow on me if I were in the market and got one. I expect it would get better as it "wears in".

I too am on the brink of retirement ... just can't seem to pull the plug just yet but it is not far off.
