I saw that this morning on the MOA forum. Wonder if the sale ends Sunday or Monday.
I don't recall ever seeing a discount that big on the GS-911 stuff.
The 30% off is on all the GS-911 items except adapter cables.

Almost worth it to buy it and then resell it to someone else for less than normal price.
I'd but it if I didn't already have one.

Had a nice long chat with Ted Porter this afternoon. Turns out, "while supplies last", didn't last that long, lol. I asked him to give me the "sales pitch" on why I should get one (at full price) anyway. He went on to explain the many ways he's been able to save time, and more importantly money, with the GS911 by accurately and quickly diagnosing faults. Gave me several real world examples of the benefits of using this tool. I also got an interesting education into the political reasons that we can't just run down to the local parts store and get an affordable scan device for our motorcycle, vs a car.
I've actually read up on some other forums about an affordable app based system that seems to offer basic functions. But I definitely consider the higher initial cost of the GS911 to be reasonable, considering it's depth of features and how long I plan to keep my bike.
So as of today, my wife has another Christmas gift idea for me

Dave - another point to remember is the GS-911 does not only cover one model but covers ranges of models so this one tool will be useful as long as you have a BMW and the amount of information and features that it has built-in is huge. And the fact that it can be firmware updated means that it is somewhat future proof as well. I was happy to buy it at the $300 for USB model, especially after using it a couple of times. At the sale price it is priced much more "right" than before. I see zero advantage to getting the WiFi version.

Dave if you like working on your BMW motorcycle then in my IHMO the GS911 is another very useful tool for your garage. For the most part I change my own oil, gear lube, spark plugs, batteries, bleed the brakes, check the valves, etc as needed. The GS911 come in handy to reset the service needed indicator, when bleeding the ABS module, reseting the date when changing the battery, checking for fault codes etc.

Thanks for the input, guys. I’m resonating with the future and multi-bike compatibility reasoning as well. Can’t wait to unwrap mine!

My GS911 came today from Beemershop. One more thing to add to the “Tool Junkie” arsenal :-)

Excellent. You won't regret this tool, especially at this price.

After 4 years of resisting the urge.. I went ahead and purchased the 911wifi edition for the RS. The impetus is to be able to scan and clear codes, reset service reminder, and cycle the ABS pump on brake fluid changes. I reviewed Grumpy’s Youtube reviews, to see what the functionality of the accessory would enable me to do. Now to await its arrival, then set up the unit, and do a scan.

Great tool, but I have to ask ... what was behind your 4-year hesitation? In my case it was the price, so when the USB version became available at $100 cheaper than the WiFi I opted to get the USB.
The WiFi (for me) is an unnecessary "feature" that I was not willing to pay for. I thought - no need for WiFi connection between the GS-911 and the laptop when they are less than 2 feet away. USB is faster as well.
Either way, there is no doubt as to its usefulness, even if it seems like it is never used and always in the case not justifying its existence.

I currently run Mac and IoS devices and, the wifi version is the only one that can interface with my laptop and phone. The site has downloads compatible with Apple products.
