How To Patch Your Tire
#21
Caught that video today, as part of my Covid - sit around the house viewing :-( After trying the Stop n Go plug system in my rear, soft carcass, Michelin Road 5 (which failed miserably), the hole was so big that the patch plug was the only way left to save it. Love the small compressor though. Works great!

Since my earlier post I have reviewed my tire repair kit and found I have the Dyna Plug kit.

Typically I will change a tire after any kind of puncture. A tire plug that will last till I get to a dealer to change the tire is good enough for me. The Dyna plug meets my needs.

In addition I have one of the Roadside plans offered by BMWMOA.

He checked 4 ways of repairing a hole (StopNGo mushroom plugs, StopNGo patch, tire ropes, and DynaPlug) and he came to pretty much the same conclusion that I have - best is the patch from inside, then the tire rope. .....

Right. Short, fun video with the mandatory physics experiment and in which Ryan imitates the average youtuber. For me the highlight was a picture of Lemmy's sidewall puncture full of rope plugs..., which gets back to Olgry's primary goal for any repair of a puncture that has compromised a belt or sidewall .... wait, would any of you ride at any reasonable speed with a sidewall full of bacon? But nice proof of concept.

Tore a half inch rip in an ATV tire many years ago. Had my stop-n-go tire plugger with. Was able to seal it up with six plugs. Rode the rest of the weekend.

Put an inside patch on her when I got home.
