City bag (lids) for R1250RS?

Since I use my bike for commuting, local riding, and hopefully by the end of the year, overnight rides, I do not need or want my RS to have wide hips (big butt!). I had thin case lids from Hornig for my K16, the sport bags for the K13, and "police lids" for my K12RS flying brick. Is anyone aware of 'city' bags or bag lids for the R1250RS?

What are you looking to carry (max) in this bag, which I assume you are intending to fit on the pillion seat? I like SW Motech bags (and other products).

It's a shame BMW no longer sells City Lids.
I always liked the look of City Lids on bikes like the K1200RS.
People who had them said it was easy to switch back and forth between regular lids and City Lids.
At one time BMW even had a wide lid option. Those really made your ass look big.

I am no hair-splitter. Any panniers make the butt look big. If I am going to put panniers on, I might as well give in to functionality and the the bigger ones (on the right) than the half-measure one on the left, but that's just me. Same story for top boxes - hate mine but love the functionality, so it stays.

Here is my bike, big butt and big head too. No question of the carrying capacity though. In this configuration I could be gone for an indefinite time.

Perfect example, thanks! Almost all of my riding is within 300 miles of home: lots of commuting and some overnight rides. On longer day-trips I still want to carry different warmer or cooler gloves, a jacket liner, water, etc. Not enough to Terra del Fuego, but more than fits in a small tank bag. Let me put it this way, with the K1300S sport bags, my wife and I could overnight and rarely had to expand the bag. In the attached picture of my former K1600GT you can barely see the bags with the narrow (Hornig) lids, painted to match the rest of the bike. Yes, I could have put on the original lids in about five minutes but never needed to. Also, for me, commuting on a bike with huge saddle bags is like using a Chevy Suburban to get yourself to work. Unless you need to carry a whole lot of stuff, it's wasted capacity.

I like the sw-motech bags as well, but also like the solid locking security offered by the BMW bags, just not the size.

I was going to suggest the SW Motech Tail Bag I got for my S1000R (video here) but if riding with your wife as pillion then that is a non-starter. If not then it may be the answer you are looking for. Security will be sacrificed for "narrow hips", but you can always detach the tail bag and bring it with you.

The Metropolitan police Special Escort Group are using R1200RS from about 2017 with City lids on the panniers.
Read an article on them but cannot remember where the lids came from.
At least the SEG have the right bikes!
You might find it on the web but BMW must have the tooling somewhere.
Search youtube for SEG several clips with the new RS showing the city lids.

Whilst I have not had a SEG bike in 1971 I did have an ex-Metropolitain Police Triumph Saint one of only 200 built.

Very natty helmet as well.
Whilst looking back, my logo is me on my homebuilt TriBsa at Halsted Essex UK in 1963!

Taking a closer look, it appears to me that these are not city lids at all. The city lids were an independently molded alternative to the deeper, standard lid. These appear clearly to just be half-inch thick white caps that are bonded somehow to the original lid, which has just been scalped of half of its width. The Caps appear to be completely flat, so probably only have the half inch rim around them to provide a surface to bond them to the remaining half of the original lid.

These bikes were done by a small company in Southern England. I emailed them about the panniers and they said that due to contractual issue they could not supply to any other customer.
My guess is that the Police wanted to make sure no-one could 'imitate' the bikes' look so as to prevent any threat to the VIPs.
I did that based on seeing a distance picture of the 'city lids'. Now I've seen these shots - as someone else said - they appear to be a bit of a bodge. Looks like the pannier lid has been sawn off, a section cut out then the flat piece riveted on
