You probably saw this coming. I've got too many motorcycles, no I have too little room and time.
Any thoughts on value of 2018 R1200RS, just under 20k miles. No alarm, otherwise I believe it is fully optioned. Electronic suspension, nav mount (nav not included), heated grips. I've added SC project can (stock included), Shad 3P luggage system with cases, BMW mount for top case(top case not included) head covers, rear wheel mud cover, MRA windshield(stock included), Givi tank ring, EZ Hexcan, cyclops aurora lights w mounts, probably forgetting something or somethings. Comes with 2 fobs and a plastic emergency key, all service is up to date.
Road smart 4 tires with about 40% life.
Red frame model.
Only issue I'm aware of: when I added the Givi tank ring the electric lock on gas cap quit working. I preferred it that way and while it throws a code, there is no light on the dash(soft code?). Code is removable with GS 911, but comes back.
Shad cases have some minor scuffing, they were included with my XR.

A friend of mine. I’m guessing if using this as a guide yours is probably less then this. Another option is to see if the nearest BMW dealer to you or the dealer you bought it from will allow you to put on their floor charging you $500. Let them help you price it at their usual retail price. That $500 price is the usual going rate at the MN dealers for selling a bike on consignment.
With the short supply of RS bikes it should sell in a reasonable period of time. Better exposure at a dealer then in your garage. You can still post it is for sale mentioning the bike can be seen at a particular dealer.

Sad to hear that it was the RS that ended up on the chopping block. Good luck with the sale though. Someone will get a great bike, ready to tour.

This market is strange and hard to judge. Honestly, I was thinking 12500ish. I don't want to hammer anybody but I don't want to leave large dollars on the table either.
I've sent my salesman at dealer a text asking about consignment. Maybe I'll be surprised.

There are currently 8, 2018 RS bikes on Cycle Trader. Prices in the $13,500 to $15,500.
Hopefully your dealer can come through for you. I sold a bike several years ago through a dealer. We agreed I would give them $500 regardless what it sold for but would give them 50% over my minimum price. They sold in a month for $2000 more then I was wanting so we each got $1000.
As Wayne mentioned sorry to see that one go from your stable but we all will face that decision someday when we either change models or give up riding.

For me the gas cap not locking would be a plus. I don't like locking gas caps.
But it may scare off a buyer.
If the tank ring is still mounted, remove it and make sure you evenly tighten the gas cap screws to see if that corrects the problem.
Your shield and exhaust probably don't add to the resale value and may decrease it.
I would put the stock ones back one and sell the aftermarket ones separately.

If the rear wheel mud cover is the OEM Aussie fender I would remove it.
Someone will want it since it's not available in the US.

Here's my take, strip it to bought at dealer stock and sell the aftermarket yourself. People like myself are always looking for a windshield or exhaust can 8P
What your bike is worth where you live I have no idea but my experience is RS buyers will travel to buy.
Here it seems 95% of used RS are at dealers.

I know back to stock is the best way to maximize resale profit. It comes with extra hassles though. Shipping, especially the larger pieces, is a huge PITA.
However, you guys have convinced me. Weather forecast says no riding this weekend, so I'll get the RS on the lift and start pulling parts and cleaning it up.

Not only that but people who buy secondhand are typically not willing to pay anything for the farkles put on by the seller, i.e. zero. Depending on how obtrusive, some (me) may even pass on the sale.
I tend to strip off the added stuff and then offer them to the buyer at a discount if they are interested. If not then I sell them on eBay or the appropriate online fora.

Well, you will still have the '16 XR, you are keeping the in-line 4 cyl, I see. How many miles on this one? My '19 XR just keeps getting better and better - the engine vibration is much less than when new, it's pretty smooth now, and I had the seat modified by a local seat place, so I have no more mods on my wish list.
Good luck wit the sale of the RS. Go ride the "little" KTM.

You hit the nail on the head. The XR is much better than the RS for most of the riding we do around here. Mostly small paved county roads, we don't turn around if we run across gravel.....which is about 90% of the time. The forward lean on the RS, slight as it is, kills my wrists on the bumpy paved roads and makes gravel feel pretty sketchy. The extra suspension and the upright position of the XR make it much more comfortable. It has 21,4xx miles on it, BTW. I haven't toured on it yet, but a 300 mile day ride isn't unusual for us so I'm fairly confident that aspect will be fine.
The "little" KTM.....every time I ride it I ask myself "why don't I ride this bike more often? It's a hoot!". Did 150 miles on it last Saturday, that's close to the limit of butt time that seat will allow. Maybe 200ish.

Are there really people that wouldn't want the mudsling and head covers?
I previously replaced the footpegs (thanks Bruce) because one of the stock rubber pieces ripped, thinking I'll leave the replacements on.
Also not planning on moving the nav mount back to stock location, it was far harder to read there than above the instrument cluster. Makes no sense there.
