The new R1250GS and R1250RT were officially premiered today
#1
With 6 more world premiere press launches slated for 2018, there is a good chance that the R1250RS would be one of them.

See a few screen grabs from the Live even from Portugal on the News page of the RSWasserboxer website. Video to follow as soo as it is available.

Wayne, I'm guessing you are correct the RS and 2 other boxer models plus the 3 in line 4 models are the other 6 releases based on the official BMW paperwork shared with me.

You could be correct. I was only going based on what the CEO of BMW Motorrad said at the press launch of the GS and RT - he did not elaborate on what models would be launched in those 6 events. Check out the Press Launch video on the News page.

What I do know is that there is a new S1000RR, and with the new 1250 boxer engine, there would be a new R1200R / RS, so that is three new models. There are no other LC 1200 boxers that would be upgradeable with the new engine. The other boxers in the BMW lineup are the air cooled "Heritage" bikes (R nineT variants) and I have not heard of a new engine for those …. Maybe they will all get the LC engine, but then they won't be "Heritage" anymore ...

Also, the releases could be like this one - covering more than one bike, so it is hard to speculate which bikes would be updated enough to warrant a press launch. The only thing I would be sure of is the S1000RR and the R1250 R/RS.

Some nice pictures there ... including this one ... a Granite Grey model no less. Smile

But the Blue and White one with the gold rims is nicer, I will allow.

Can't wait to see the new R1250RS ...

I deeply dislike the gold rims again.

Looks great otherwise, well for a GS.

Any idea of differences in the granite grey and white bikes other than color? The white bike has an HP logo/sticker on the upper part of the fairing and granite grey does not is why I mention.

The bike in the Motorsport colors is similar to the previous Rally Edition.
Wire wheels and colored frame.
There's also a plastic cover on part of the white frame.
