How do you reprogram a key fob?

This is not something that an owner can do. Far as I know it has to be done at a dealership.

How do you reprogram a key fob?

Right - like a lot of essentials in life, I always carry two. 

Here's the instructions I received - not sure if it works on a previously programmed key.

Keyless Ride - Workshop instruction initial operation spare key

1. Turn ignition off and wait until all control units are powered down. (>1 min)
   
2. Put all available keys out of the radio range of the ring antenna (min 2 m)
   
3. Hold the spare key directly to the ring antenna (max 5 cm away) and turn the ignition on.
   

The operation of initiation is done if the ignition can be switched on. 

Not completely intuitive, but it worked.
