Is the Tail of the Dragon overrated?
#21
Thanks for the kind word GG. Bruce and Dawn were excellent ride hosts for the Dragon run Big Grin Love that pic too, as it managed to catch 4 of the 5 ( Mark from CA just out of the shot) of us there that day. GS guards on Bruce's RS and (as Lee mentioned) Barkbusters Storm on Dawn's. Not certain about the GS style, but you will run into slight mirror clearance issues with the Storm at full lock. Meaning either you rotate the stalks forward a bit for clearance (sacrificing the rear view somewhat) or get some mirror extenders. But they most certainly work quite well when the temps are low, essentially making the heated grips more effective.

Always wondered what would scrape first.

Nice picture! Big Grin

That’s a California Scientific XL. A great choice for extreme cold weather and wet riding (but with a still pocket of air, exposed helmet fogging issues). Lots of valuable windscreen experience on this site.
My Nav relocation is probably as homemade as it gets in this group. Inspired by the Hornig type supports, but made with scrap plate and bar stock lying around the garage. Painted black for obvious reasons.
Again, you’ll find lots of valuable info from this group of RS owners
