You can buy add-on universal blades that will clamp onto anything reasonably flat - slightly curved. I added one to my Tracer - see here. Inexpensive too and so far has not broken.

No I am not reasonably pleased with the MRA X-creen Sport on the RS ... I am completely pleased with it. Big Grin

So much so that I will likely not have another bike without a lip on it, and the Tracer is testament to that. Just finished a long road trip with the Tracer and the lip adds far more versatility in getting the right balance of airflow and noise attenuation that cannot be achieved without a height-adjustable windscreen couple with a deflector / lip for that added degree of versatility.

That said, while the MRA X-creen Sport is the best (for me) on the RS, the Tracer with its standard windscreen and lip provides a better environment on a long distance trip.

 I thought that you had something more like the MRA Multi-X-Creen.(see below)
Several people have told me the clamp-on type MRA  'spoilers' will work with the curved edge of the stock screen but for some reason I am still skeptical.
Is yours on an OEM screen?

Now I am confused. Sounds like you did not see my video on the screen that I have on the RS ... which is the MRA X-creen Sport as noted above. Here is the video of my changeover from the stock RS windscreen to the OEM MRA X-creen windshield:



On my Tracer, I have just a clamp on lip. Maybe that is where you are getting confused. Smile

FWIW, my research has determined that the various (not to be confused with VARIO) add-on blades (clamp-on or screw-in) are compatible with virtually all screens.  The clamps rotate to accommodate the curvature of your screen.
For example, I recently pulled the trigger on a PUIG blade and attached it to my Wunderlich Marathon screen.  Adjusted it to as low a position as I could get, then positioned it at near vertical, which, in my case, helped to create the quietest cockpit I've ever had.  No buffeting or turbulence and it catches easily 90% of the bugs that would normally have ended up on my helmet visor.
On my trip to/from the Rally, I took my Neo-Tech 2 and rode with the visor open a couple of notches (more or less 100% of the time) and had a nice, calm waft of air just under my nose the whole way. 
Part of this outcome is also due to the Wunderlich side air deflectors (maybe a BIG part), which keep air off of my arms and shoulders for the most part. 
"YMMV" is a key caveat, as I believe there's no small amount of luck involved with this set-up; I'm tall (6'4") and have the Sport Seat installed, so I stick up quite a bit!  Lucky, but very happy with the way it turned out.
Sorry for the background "noise" in the blade photo, but you get the idea of the positioning. Also another shot of the side deflectors from the rear (which also shows the previously installed Vario top-blade).

GrumpyGoat, the MRA for the R1200RS, it is not listed on the MRA website as being compatible with the R1250RS, I would have thought they had the same mounting holes. Do you know? The version for the R1250RS is different, which I may buy, currently trying to guess the best screen to get!

Unfortunately, I don't know how the holes compare by personal measurement. That said, I would have thought that they would be the same though ... I mean why would they waste the money to re-engineer that part in a model that is essentially unchanged except for the engine and dash.

Looking at the parts fiche for both the R1200RS and the R1250RS > 46-Frame, Fairing, Cases, I see the WINDSHIELD / MOUNT as having the same part number for both bikes - 46 63 8 545 307. This means that the holes are same and the MRA website has simply not been updated for the newer model bike. I would be comfortable enough buying the windshield for the 1200, for the 1250.

The mounting holes are the same on the 1200 and 1250.
I have a BMW 1200 shield on my 1250.
The lower part of the 1250 BMW shield is slightly narrower because of restyled nose of the fairing but the hole spacing is the same.

You can find new MRA-x-creens on eBay cheaper than MRA's own website.
Hard to find a deal on the Aeroflow and they are more more expensive to start.

I am undecided between the same as GG for my 1250 (the 1250 version of the xcreen doesn’t look so good) or the standard MRA Vario for the 1250.

I tried the MRA Vario screen in the end, but couldn't get the damn thing to fit so sent it back. Very strange. Anyway, have now got the Puig screen with deflector, and it's sorted the issue for me.

Do you think that the side air deflectors make a difference to the vibration and turbulence around your helmet? Have you ridden with a pillion and have they experienced the same?
