As someone with a long oval head, this part sounds promising:
SCHUBERTH INDIVIDUAL CONCEPT
SCHUBERTH C5 sets a new benchmark in terms of comfort. The standard head pad has been developed to offer uncompromised comfort to all our customers, but those with "extreme head shapes" are usually forced to compromise with fit and sizes. For SCHUBERTH compromise is not an option so with the C5 we introduce the "Individual concept". A specific program aimed to ensure the maximum comfort to the rider giving the option to customize the internal padding with more thickness options for sides, back and cheek pads. ( Head Pad customization available for sizes M/L/XL).
How does this fitting work?

The only helmet I've found to fit is the Aria Signet series. I also have an LS2 modular that's good for half a day before it becomes unbearable. Another option would be great.

Not a big Sena fan, having just switched to the Packtalk Bold from Cardo.

Color me cautiously interested.
Has pricing been announced?

The Schuberth C4 has been one of my favorite helmets and the best fitting.
I was really disappointed when they changed the shape on the C4 Pro.
The C4 Pro does not fit either one of us very well and I figured we would need to start looking for other brands.
It took us several years of trying helmets that fit us as well as our old HJC helmets.
We don't have many places to try on helmets.

Maybe the adjustable fit will work for us.
I really like the built in intercom on our C4s because there's nothing stuck to the outside of the helmet.
I don't like the idea of the boom mic sticking in front of your mouth on the C5.
We have the same mic as the C4 Pro and you never notice it.

I hope Schuberth has the C5 at the MOA National and they are able to fit us.

Thanks Darrell. Nice video, though the GS rider without a visored helmet left me disoriented.

Agree with Liteitup - once we find a helmet that fits almost perfectly off the shelf, it's hard to move on.

(And I haven't been able to justify the weight and expense of a modular helmet since that golfball-dimpled white Schuberth I owned in the 80s....)

Plays just fine ... thanks for sharing. I watched the whole thing. Like the presenter. Smile

On the helmet, I was surprised to see that it appears to have a slightly more decent price for a start, but I reserve judgement on that when it hits US retailers.

The C5 appears to tick all my boxes except the integration with the comm system which I don't see as an advantage, having moved away from Sena to Cardo because of sound quality and lack of timely updates based on consumer feedback. I agree with Champion about the lack of a 3rd shell size. I have a larger head and typically wear an XL which would put my head in the larger of the 2 shell sizes. Other features seem very nice on this helmet.

Good to see that the HJC RPHA 90S is also a good choice and of course the Shoei Neotec 2. I have owned an RPHA modular in the past and liked it but the hinge failed unexpectedly (after a few years) so I am conscious about that. The replacement Shoei R1200 non-modular is still there and a solid performer and is my oldest helmet and so I am a bit partial to Shoei. Also, since switching away from modular to non-modular I am not that excited any longer to get a modular helmet although I do miss the flip up to take a drink function.

It looks like Champion does decent reviews of helmets ... I like that they actually measure noise and ventilation with actual data.

It's nice the extra pads to customize fit are included.
I still worry if the shape of the helmet is wrong different pads may not work.

Besides the better fit compared to the Shoei for us I liked that the Schubert did better in chin guard tests.
The chin guard on our C4 stayed shut 100% of the time and the Shoei would open 30% of the time.

I'm still interested in this helmet, to the point I almost decided to order from overseas. Champion Helmets in the Netherlands tells me via chat the C5 hasn't been released yet, they expect it January 1. So, I guess I'll wait till after the new year and see if they have the US release at the same time. Hopefully, that's the case. I'd really like to lay hands on one and try it for fit before shelling out any dollars.

Just spent the full 34 minutes watching this excellent comparison between the Schuberth C5 and the Shoei Neotec 2 from this motorcycle "outfitter" in the UK. I like their style and wished that there was a similar service over here. I am not typically one for "frou-frou" extras on service (especially if I have to pay for it) but at the end he talks a little about what their business has to offer and what sets them apart. Nice business model. At the prices for these helmets, I would want to have the helmet fitted, plus have all the extras, plus have the 12-month return policy!
