Skunks, doing what they do
#1
Here's one that peeps might like.
Woke up at 3am with a sore throat and the smell of SKUNK. OMG, it was like there was one in the room, almost.
Got up to investigate with some Febreze in hand. Opened the door to outside and found a very slight dusting of snow and small foot prints by the side of the house. The little turd or turds must have let loose next or close to the forced air furnace fresh air inlet ducting. Every time the furnace kicked in the air quality sulfured just a little more.
So with Febreze still in hand gave the duct a shot. Luckily the day before I had bought a new furnace filter so out with the old and in with the new. Without that new filter I guess I would have just run filter less for the night.
All is much better today. I blocked their obvious path marked by the snow and spread out some cyanine pepper.
Now I will buy an extra filter and keep an eye out for these nocturnal creatures.

My girl never even woke up. I guess I can put beer and beans back on the dinner menu.

A couple week ago a couple we know had covid and lost their sense of smell for awhile.
In the middle of the night the guy let the dog back in the house and the dog spent the remainder of the night with them on the bed.
When they woke up they couldn't smell anything but said it felt like there was a presence in the room.
They figured out the dog had been sprayed by a skunk.
