Hi,

My name is Ron, I live in Belgium, I am a freelance ICT consultant and I am 62 years old.
For my 60th birthday, I bought a new BMW R Nine T, which I customised a lot.

But last year, I had the opportunity to 'test' several bikes during the BMW Test days, and the RS fitted like a glove.
I also tested the R18, the GS, the RT, but yeah the RS was ideal for me.

The RS was also more 'comfortable' than the R Nine T. 

So I traded my R Nine T for a BMW 1250 RS 2023, white color, which I just received mid april. 
First service on 1.000km is planned end of this month.

I am planning to do a 7-day tour in Scotland in the summer holidays.

I already replaced the OEM Nav Mount and installed the Zumo XT2 on top of the TFT screen, which is much more practicle.

Looking for some tips on the windscreen, and that's how I found youtube info from Grumpy Goat, so I decided to join this forum

Greetings Ron and welcome to the group. Yes, the RS is the "best unknown BMW" there is. Sounds like you are getting your RS kitted out exactly as you want. I have a Puig Touring screen on my RS and find it an improvement over the stock 2020 screen. Post a picture when you can. I'm sure Grumpy Goat will be along shortly.

I think that most of us have to try more than one motorcycle before we settle on one that "fits". But then it my fit for the riding we do at that moment and that as time passes and riding style and mood change, we might have different needs ("wants"?) and that is when we get into the dilemma of "needing" more motorcycles. 

The same can't be said for windshields - yes we have to try several but when we settle on one, it rarely changes for that particular motorcycle. The RS is not perfect but its a damned good motorcycle, but one thing I think most would agree is that the stock windscreen is a weak point. That said, we all have different dimensions so it is hard to get a windshield that fits everyone from the factory, and as a result we have to all experiment with different ones. Hope you find the one you can settle on, and I hope you enjoy the Forum and I look forward to your contributions.

As I say to all from Europe - you are all so lucky to have such connectivity and infrastructure over there. You can easily ride from county to country in the time and distance I would take to simply get out of Texas! From what I see Europe is made for sport touring and the RS is a great fit.

Welcome, nice pictures. In case you didn't know, the windscreen can be mounted at two different heights, in your picture, the screen is mounted in the lower bolt position, you can move it to the high bolt position and see what that does for you.
