Arrow Can

With the old giant chrome whale penis:

With svelte new Arrow Maxi-Race:

Much better.

I am one of the few that likes the look of the original muffler, with its fluted lines. Yes, it looks fat and heavy but in actuality it is not as heavy as it looks and the weight saving of the aftermarket cans is almost negligible.

Not saying that the Arrow is not a nice muffler and if you like how it looks (and sounds) then that is all that matters. I have a Remus Hexacone, myself (was a good deal) and I do like the almost raucous nature that it gives the bike, but sometimes when I hear the tone of the stock muffler on other RSs they sound pretty sweet also.

Each to his own. I just think the stock muffler is disproportionate to the rest of the bike. The sound was fine, as is the sound of the Arrow. Weight wise, meh. This was totally an aesthetic choice. If I decide I don't like it down the road, I've always got the big chrome bit to throw back on. To my ear the Arrow does something unusual sound wise. At idle, it is definitely louder than the stocker. Get under way and it seems to tone down and is about the same. That's a good thing to me. I will leave the dB killer in there.

What I did find a little odd with the stock can was the "colour" especially on my Granite Grey bike. I found that the chrome "clashed" a bit with the rest of the look, and I suppose for the Triple Black I feel the same. That is largely why, when I got the opportunity for the titanium Remus I decided to give that a try, more than for any other reason (at the time). Then I heard the sound and liked that enough to keep it on the bike. So, like you it was (initially at least) more for the aesthetics. For me any weight reduction is nonsense since I am about 30 lb overweight.

Ignore the top box in this pic, aesthetics and all.

Agreed. The Remus can on your bike really adds to the look. The big chrome thingy would look a bit out of place given that color palette. No worries on the top box, I'm rocking a big one too. Function over form I suppose. Good looking ride you have.

Thanks. I hate my top box but I love its utility. Just like the minivan I owned when the kids were kids ...

Nice look. How did you get it ceramic coated? Any idea how long the coating will last?

It was coated early 2016 the muffler still looks great, the headers on the other hand has been a disappointment. The header is
made of titanium I've had it recoated twice still looks awful.
