Brad, that sounds like too good a deal to pass up  . Particularly since I'm only about 50 miles from Eureka Springs. I'll have to figure a way to get the bike there "cold" but that shouldn't be too big a problem, thanks!

I have my 18ft Maintenance Trailer with me and I carry some fans that can cool down the engine to below 95F/35C in 2hrs. 
In that time, I can be completely set up to do the checks with the correct expansion of internal parts...I use a Laser Temp reader to check all the way to the Crankshaft.

I'll be starting a dedicated thread on the BMWST.com UN Rally Forum post soon to get folks signed up for specific days while I'm there.

I'm going to look into holding a WetHead/ShiftHead Tech Day at my house in Rhode Island this summer, specifically for the folks on this RS Forum and maybe include the R bikes as well.
Let me know if you know of any interest in this sort of event.

Chris216 - there have been periodic requests for information on removing the plastics on the RS. Seems to be a great opportunity to put together an article on this topic. Some of the questions centred on which fasteners went where, and where there were tabs, etc.

THAT would be awesome! As a new 23 RS owner, thank you for this effort.

I'll see what I can do, I didn't take any pictures or notes when I took it apart though. A good reference point for fastener placement is the parts microfiche that online dealers provide. I use A&S cycles, but there are many more out there.

Interestingly enough most of the info is under "frame and mounting parts"
Also I would recommend getting some sort of organizer trays to keep the fasteners for each panel separate. I use fishing tackle plastic organizer boxes such as those by Flambeau.

I mainly do that so I don't forget a fastener.
