Possible seats
#1
Hi guys.  I've been riding on the stock seat now for 3-4 weeks and it's actually not too bad, for the first couple of hours, but then I start to squirm.  I've been trying a Sargent seat for a week and it's not quite doing it either.  So that leads me to ask for advice.  The next option looks to be a Wunderlich seat, but it cost $800, and that's pretty steep!  Have you tried it, or are there other option available that maybe don't cost quite so much.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I have a Sargent seat and it's quite comfortable. Give it a chance to "break in". It'll never be pillow soft but I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. I've read good things about the Russell Day Long seats but they add height so unless you've got long legs one may not be what you want.
Happiness comes not from what you have, but from enjoying all that you do have no matter how much or little that may be.

Seats are like windshields. What works for one rider may not work for others.
You can watch for used Wunderlich seat.
We were able to buy two almost new Wunderlich seats a couple years ago and spent around $300 shipped for each.

That's a good thought, thank you!

That about sums it up for all aspects of the motorcycle that directly interacts with the rider in some way, touchpoints or line of sight. It can get very costly as we try and find a solution that best suits us, especially with seats.

No argument there.  Was just looking for alternatives to the Wunderlich.

Of course, and this is the only way to know what those are. What amuses me is when some people just cast out a question like "what is the best seat for long distance riding?" and then sit back and watch all the varied answers that follow. Big Grin

There is value to asking others' opinions on the various brands, like customer service, longevity, and other real-world usage experiences that have nothing to do with how it actually fits your particular anatomy (which you only know after you shell out the big bucks, *and* after some time when the seat further molds to your butt).

Good luck with your quest, of course. Smile

I'm happy with the BMW tall sport seat, but I also have a Corbin seat which is very comfortable once broken in. I see your local to me I

Also happy with the BMW sport seat, and I know Darrell has used it as the base for some nice customizations.

That said, part of the comfort is in the training. We get used to what we get used to...

Currently on my basic "adventure bike" - no motor. Check out the seat - comfortable for hours on end. In other words, don't look to me for advice in n motorcycle seats - from stock to Corbin Custom Canyon, they've all been good
