If you are reading this then you already know that the Forum Community is back up and running.
I suppose I could have got it done the same day that it went down but work got in the way, and I had to get help from the developer's forum community as well as re-familiarize myself with server-side operations. It has been just over 2 years since the last time it went down, and this is not due to anything I did. I suspect that the hosting service made some upgrade and messed something up. Anyway, I took the chance to update the pHp language as well as the board software.
Fingers crossed it is back to how it was. If you notice something weird, please let me know and hopefully I can fix it.

I didn't notice it was down. How long was it down?
I did see there were spam threads the last week.

On Tuesday it started. When one accessed the forum URL instead of presenting the landing page the browser downloaded a script file. Had no time to resolve that day and so it was fixed only yesterday.
There are spam bots applying to the Forum all the time and they are deleted behind the scenes. Occasionally a human spammer continues with the process and gets verified so in those cases I rely on reports to purge these.
I think that overall, the lack of ads, foreign languages, consistent uptime, and better signal : noise ratio makes it worthwhile, compared to other forums. Traffic may be slower but there is more wheat and less chaff.
