Which one did you like better at highway speeds?
I could not hear most of what you were saying when parked next to the interstate.
I like the graphics on the new helmet.

Nice review, GG. Thank goodness they’ve improved. My wife has the 1st gen Strada. The shield retention system and helmet padding in it are sub par.

Yes, the shield brackets have been totally redesigned as discussed in the Revzilla review. A Cycle Gear sales associate said that they are similar to those made for Shoei, and they look similar. Lack of detents is a pain though.

I though about the padding and how it might stand up but I have no experience to base anything on.

I lost some footage for that video (quick unboxing and going over the main exterior features) so had to make do. I was also disappointed about the audio but I am hoping that the comparison with a helmet standard is useful. Many times with reviews there is no frame of reference.

Which helmet is quieter at highway speeds?
With my hearing I have trouble with loud background noises.
I was not able to hear all of what you said when you were comparing the helmets when standing near the interstate.

Sorry for the delayed reply ... didn't get notified of this post as being "new".

I agree on the bit about not hearing all that I said while standing near I-45 .... wife made the same comment. Next time I will try and see if I can force sub-titles.

The Sedici is quieter all around, including at highway speeds, but there the difference is not so big as when going slower.

I have since installed a 2nd helmet kit for my Cardo Packtalk Bold and it comes with regular (i.e. non-JBL) 32mm speakers which are not as loud as the 40mm JBL speakers in my Shoei, but which I was able to hear music acceptably at 80 mph. At 50 mph and up, phone calls were significantly quieter - maybe my guinea pig (wife) was speaking quietly (she is not naturally loud anyway). I have a suspicion that I will upgrade the speakers and as karma will allow, I may resort to once again buying the 45mm JBLs that I found no different (or worse) than the 40mm JBLs that came with the Packtalk Bold. I have to hear phone calls at 75 mph.

I may make a small video on the 2nd helmet kit and the sound in the Sedici.
