2019/2020 BMW R 1250 RS - Passenger comfort??
#1
Hey everyone,
Hoping you can help me out here. I'm looking at a new 2019 or 2020 R 1250 RS. My question is, what is the passenger seat like for the passenger? I'm looking for something so my wife isn't very uncomfortable after about 3 to 4 hours on the bike. But I'm also wanting something sporty for the days I'm alone. The current bike I have now is a 2016 Yamaha FZ6R. Time to upgrade. We are both approximately 5'9" and slim build. Can anyone help me out here with personal experience? Stay healthy and safe everyone!!

Welcome to the Forum.

My wife is shorter than yours by about 8" and probably heavier. She does not particularly like motorbikes and usually resists my invitations to go for a ride. BUT, she does occasionally go, and when she does she says that the seat is comfortable.

At 60 she has hip problems after sitting on the bike for some time but her butt is never in pain. Longest trip for her was an overnighter to Austin and back so the time on the bike up and back was over 3 hours stops included, and her longest non-stop stretch is about 2 hours. No complaint about the seat.

The pillion seat on the RS is very plush compared to your FZ6R I am sure and since she is slim she definitely won't have any issues with sitting back there.

Thank you for the reply my friend! It's much appreciated. Seems you also enjoy to have a passenger now and then, I'm sure you can appreciate the fact that simply sitting on a bike isn't a fair test for a passenger. Its one thing for me as the driven (as I have lots to do and focus on) but her a passenger, who just sits with you to enjoy the ride and listen to the wind noise, comfort is a big deal.

Once again, thank you for the reply! Ride safe, stay healthy!
