Turn indicators - different set up
#1
In Rider’s Manual (page 60) was written:
The turn indicators are cancelled automatically after the defined time and distance. The defined time and distance can be set by an authorised BMW Motorrad dealer.”

Did anyone set up different time and distance ? Huh

I looked at the options when I reviewed the bike with my mechanic before delivery and decided I could live with the factory setting. I do notice on occasion they turn off too early for my liking so need to remember to check and reactivate when that happens as a result of my turning them on well before turning.

I do not believe that using a time / speed algorithm as an electronic-only solution with be adequate in all circumstances. Nothing will ever beat a manual set / manual cancellation as in a car. Some times the user will be too far away from the curve and it will turn off prematurely. Other times it will stay on long after the turn is completed because maybe the user turned the signal on too late. It all depends on activating the signal a certain fixed distance from the corner, and that activation distance is not always the same.

Consequently, I rarely rely on the self-cancelling feature, but look for it every now and again to see if it is still working ....

To answer the OP's question ... I have not changed mine, and have not noticed it in my GS-911 USB's menus, but that is not to say it is not there ....
