My brother in law passed away in Louisiana ten days ago. I flew over there, stayed nine days, and flew back this past Monday. I stayed at my sister's house, many people at the house, people at the funeral, etc. Wednesday evening I started having symptoms: cough and body aches. So did one of my brothers, his wife, and my sister. Two of them were tested and came out positive. As a precaution, I made arrangements to test myself the Monday I got back but I have not received the results yet. But I expect it to be positive. So far, nobody else that was there is having symptoms.
We are all having mild symptoms but we are only two or three days into symptoms. Right now I just feel like any other viral infection, cough, body aches, and over the counter meds work fine: Tylenol, cough drops, vitamin C, etc. No breathing problems, no blood oxygen problems.
If it doesn't get any worse than it is today, I'll be fine.

Hope all goes well with all involved. Can't help but say this is a great example of why USA is #1. This covid scares the heck out of me, social distance is not fun, but its easy. Thanks for the post, hope others learn from this.

Hey Ron - Sorry to hear about that and I do hope that its impact is mild for you and family. Please do take care.
BTW - I moved this to the Off Topic" forum as it is not really motorcycle-related, even if it is 'General' in nature and just as important as any other motorcycle discussion to the Ride In group.

Good luck. Sorry to hear about your brother-in-law. Pat yourself on the back. This is where your efforts at good fitness pay off with decreased risk for complications. I will knock on wood cross my fingers and do all the other things that doctors do today for cases like yours. Stay good.

I woke up this morning with no body aches, I feel almost normal, still have a cough, and no fever. The way this is going, it's not going to be a problem at all.

Good to hear. Maybe it's just the flu.
What is the average wait time for a test in Colorado?

Time for an update. the good news above was short lived. In summary, week 1 of Covid symptoms was easy. Week 2 was difficult, lots of body ache, no energy, feeling like a bad flu. I am early in week 3 and the last 24 hours have been a big improvement. I feel like I have turned the corner and I am recovering. I hope the worse is behind me.

I am now 5 days without fever or body aches, symptoms began 22 days ago. But I am not sleeping much at night and my body is very tired, very low energy. I would feel so much better if I could get some rest. Even if I recover in the next few days, I'll end up being sick for 4 weeks - that's a long time. I am ready for some normalcy!

Thanks for sharing. Not something any of us want to experience.
What I've been seeing is that when afebrile folks hit the point where they can get out and walk a few minutes at a time without wiping themselves out, they are finally on the mend.
The exercise (which will feel harder than it should) will improve sleep (which will feel longer and less efficient than it should).
Be careful not to overdo it. I've seen a lot of athletes with viral cardiomyopathy, and one of my colleagues has always believed that high intensity exercise can increase the risk for viral infection or inflammation and damage of the heart muscle.
Take care, mijo. We worry.
