The 1250 exhaust sounds different to us.
The muffler looks the same but I think the flapper valve is different.

The shift cam engine sounds different to me too. In addition, the engine exhaust sound changes quite noticeably when the shift cam shifts. I have heard this change under partial load and gentle up incline in the mountains.
