The Austin Yellow RS

Welcome! My '20 R 1250 RS is Austin Yellow Metallic and I had the factory bags painted to match as well. I only know of one other RS owner who color matched his bags to the Austin Yellow Metallic so we're definitely in a very small group. Sounds like a great ride you have planned. Here it is, fresh from a 750 mile tour of south and eastern Washington.

I think the Austin Yellow Metallic bikes are rare.  I've never seen one around the Puget Sound area and only seen one - that looked like it was an 'F' series in Victoria, BC.  The color originated on the M3, I think, and I've only seen one of those.

Is 2021 the only years for the black frame?
The ones I saw at the Kansas City shop were Sports with the white frame.

Agree - rare black frames from 2021. Probably a story somewhere.

Looks like the Sport got the black frame in Europe for 2021.
Maybe a few black frame bikes made it to the US in 2021.

Going the extra mile with the colored bags is worth it! I got lucky and found mine already painted. I wish they had gone all the way with the white frame and not kept the subframe black.

I'm guessing you did not get a Style Sport package?
Usually just the bikes with the  Style Sport package has the colored frame.
Since 2016 the bikes with the Sport package came with grey, white, blue or red frames on the RS and R.
