Bought two Front Dunlop Road Smart 4 tires from Motorcycle Clinic in Des Moines Iowa on Wednesday.
Price after rebate was $132 for each tire.
Tax and install was on top of that.

Referencing the subject title - I've taken the even cheaper route: Round, Rubber, Retain
Plan on wearing them out in a couple of weeks

I bought a set (Front and Rear) and with the $40 rebate the total was $430 all taxes included from Cycle Gear. All the other local Dunlop retailers were at least $75 higher.

You got a Dunlop rebate on tires purchased at Cycle Gear? That's rare.

They have a brick and mortar store near me so I suspect that's why I qualified.

My local store only recently added installation as a service, so they aren't on the Dunlop dealer list. However, they my current cheapest source for RS4s

They don't have to mount or install the tires to get the rebate but the rebate is higher if there is labor.
If you buy a tire it's a $20 rebate, if you carry in the wheel and they mount the tire, the rebate is $30.
I've never seen a Cycle Gear store or been in one. I don't get out much
A new rebate will probably start tomorrow, Sep 1st.

I've been very pleased with the performance and tread wear on the Road Smart IV. I haven't had the RS 3 so I can't offer any comparison.

Your NEW RS 4's are all ready to be mounted up to your bike in 2 weeks at the FART Rally. (BMWST.com Fall Appalachian Riding Tour)

Yippee and I can't wait to see the "new" look of my 1250 RS with the grey wheels.

I don't notice much difference in feel between the 3 and 4.
Wear on both is good.
I can get 9,000 miles out of a rear 3 and have 2/32" tread remaining.
The first 4 I had I replaced early for a trip. It had 5,000 miles on it with 5/32" tread remaining.
The price of the 3 used to be much cheaper than the 4. The last year or so Dunlap raised the price of the 3 closer to the 4.
When there's a rebate on the 4 there's not much difference in price.
I don't see a rebate this month.
Here's one of our Roadsmart 3 tires with 9,000 miles
Here's another 3 with 8,500 miles

AFAIK the last rebate ($20/tire and an additional $10/tire if mounting purchased from a qualifying Dunlop dealer) on the RS4 ended on 31 Aug. I made certain mine were purchased before then.

That's the one I used. Got the tires the end of August.
