Carpuride for Apple CarPlay & Android Auto
#1
I have been using the Carpuride W502B on my RS for 2 months. For $209 I am happy with the unit. Sena SRL Mesh with Samsung S23FE Android Auto. Waze lets me know where the police are hanging out. It plugged directly into my Nav Prep and I had it up and running in 10 minutes.

I am expecting a Carpuride 702B Pro within the week and will be doing a review. Hoping that the 7” screen is not too big, especially for the RS. The Tighter has a 7” screen so it may not look out of place there. While the OP asked about the Chigee unit (which I cannot comment on) I opted for the Carpuride only because of cost. The Chigee also has similarly good reviews.

I have the 703B the screen size is good. I can still use my SW MOTECH Pro Daypack tank bag without interference. What I can’t get it to do is work with my SENA 50R. It won’t output sound into my headset and gets hung up phone doesn’t work or audible Siri commands. The CarPlay display works with REVER, Waze and other apps but the lack of the full integration with the SENA is driving me nuts.

The Chingee looks like a good replacement for the Nav6 if it will work seamlessly with the SENA and iPhone/ CarPlay. If it solves my biggest issue with the 2016 display (the lcd display is the weakest part of an exceptional bike-driving into the sun it’s unreadable) Upside is the true integration if it does what it advertises, Downside is the long wait and cost more than a good used Nav6. Plenty of online chatter about the Nav but knock on wood my experience has been positive.

I have a 2016 R1200RS.

...

I split the thread off from the Chigee one since they are pretty different units.

I corrected my previous post with regard to the Carpuride model number ... it is the 702B Pro, not the 703B as I had originally said. There is no model 703B, just the 702B and "updated" 702B Pro.

I have no problem getting the 702B Pro to work with my Cardo Pactalk Bold, provided the iPhone 13 Pro and Cardo are playing nice in the first place. The issue I have (before the Carpuride was installed) was that occasionally the iPhone and Cardo would not be connected and I would have to restart Bluetooth on the iPhone (switch off and then back on). Since getting the Carpuride that has not changed. Aside from that they all play nicely together. I have mine connected via Bluetooth such that the Carpuride is only connected to my iPhone via BT and Wireless. Only the iPhone is connected to the Cardo.

I will have a first look review of the Carpuride 702B Pro on my channel this Sunday. Leaving on a road trip this weekend which would be the ideal test case.

Looking forward to your review. Noted on the 702B mine is non pro version.
I connected my iPhone 15Pro to the carpuride via the CarPlay wireless after SENA 50 was connected to my iPhone as it instructed. I tried it the reversing that order as well. Keep getting the message The Carp.BTrans is not supported.

The video will not be a short one since it includes unboxing, simple ride testing (including in a rainstorm), and final conclusions including pros and cons. One of the cons would be applicable to the situation we are discussing here.

If you have the iPhone connected to the Sena and that works (successfully without the 702B) and then used the Bluetooth mode (iPlay) on the Carpuride, then the other Carp.BTrans should not come into the picture. In other words, your iPhone will show Carp.BTrans is a BT device that is found, but you do not click it - just ignore it. If you click it, it will say that it is not supported - I assume it means that it is not supported in this iPlay mode. At least that has been my experience.

With only the iPlay BT connection (plus the Carpuride wireless connection, i.e. 2 connections total) to the iPhone (and the iPhone to the headset) it works as intended.
