Hi, and thank you.

Not my first boxer by a long shot.  I still have an '84 R100S that I will keep no matter what.  I've been riding for 59 years and have owned too many bikes to count.  I've spent the last few years on Triumphs mainly but the 1250RS just speaks to me.  I don't ride dirt anymore so don't really need that now.  I hope I can adjust the new bike to fit me, it will be here in about a week so time will tell.  My two big concerns are how far forward I sit, and does it feel cramped.  After coming from the 1200 Triumph Explorer, I hope I can adapt, I think so, I'm only 5'10".

I'm looking forward to getting used to a "street" bike again, should be fun!

Based on your comment it seems like you are buying this bike without having sat on it ...?

I am 5'-8" and I think that you will find that, if you have average proportions, your butt position would be towards the rear of the seat and you'd have a slight (3/4) lean forward, but you'd find it comfortable as I do.

I think you will adapt just fine, especially coming from the Tiger Explorer 1200, especially if it is the previous generation. Based on a test ride that bike was a bit of a dog performance-wise. Big Grin The RS is not.

You are correct, I've not sat on it.  I think it will turn out all right though, I've been reading a ton of reviews on it.  Be very curious about the performance, I bought it more for its street credentials, i.e. comfort and ride-ability.  Was also considering the new Moto Guzzi but just couldn't do it, a little bit gun-shy from my last one.  Anyway, a few more days to wait.

Welcome aboard.

Still a fun site if you don't have time to sit on all the bikes you want to...
