Aloha!

Hello from Honolulu! Just wanted to say hi to everyone. My motorcycling journey started in 2003 with an F650GS Dakar, and except for a few years in there, I've been riding ever since. It took me some time to admit that I never really had that much fun going off-road, and that the sweet-spot for me was sport-touring - and my R1250RS is by far the best motorcycle I've ever been on. It's in light white/blue/red - the fastest paint scheme.

Since the F650GS Dakar, I've also owned a 2005 R1200GS, a 2009 Triumph Tiger 1050, and a 2014 F800GT. Great bikes all, but nostalgia aside, I'd pick my RS every single time. It's comfortable all day, and is so much more capable than me it isn't even funny.

In terms of mods - MachineArtMoto X-Head guards and MudSling fender, a Wunderlich nav relocator (and BMW bolts to replace the ones the nav prep comes with, to make my sport bars look finished), and the OEM saddle bags. Literally in the mail are some Clearwater Valkyries (in combo driving-fog configuration). Happy to share my thoughts on any/all of it!

Cheers!

Welcome! Sounds like you've found your Nirvana. Having owned a GL1800 and a 1200 RT I'm of the same mind as you. The RS is my happy place. Enjoy.

Welcome to the Forum Community. Glad you are enjoying your R1250RS. Nothing wrong with picking your riding style as being on-road, even if you have an adventure bike.

I have a Tiger 900 Rally Pro - reputably the best off road bike in the Tiger lineup - and so far am not that impressed specifically with off road riding as the focus. I wanted a bike that is more capable than I at going offroad - when needed - to the destination that I may want to get to. On the other hand sport touring is more my thing. And moto-camping. The RS is an excellent sport tourer and can do motocamping, although the Tiger is better at that. The RS has way more thrust of course and that is part of the fun.
