Rode OXCART, my R1250RS, down to the Rustic for a double Americano. Got there first - the rest of the local Snoqualmie Valley Scooter trash soon showed up. It was a pretty nice day for late November - about 50 degF, no rain, dry streets. Old fart conversation, airheads, medical s**t, and so on. Time to go. I stuck in my Artevive earplugs and headed out for Seattle BMW.
Still testing the Artevive earplugs. I had been using those pink foam roll-ups for years, and I finally bit on the Artevives after getting a million or so advertisements on YouTube and FB. Main reason was that about 25% of the time I'd have to stop on the side of the road and adjust the foam roll-up in my right ear because it isn't working - actually making things worse - like it's channeling the wind noise directly into my right ear, which is the only one that still works. So far I've never had that problem with the Artevives. I put 'em in and ride off. I totally forget about 'em. Guess they're OK.
Blasted across the Evergreen. I love the way my R1250RS feels like my old K1300S. Maybe a skosh easier on the ergs, but the same basic deal. This bike is meant for serious action and truly OXCART worthy. That beautiful boxer engine is a giant plus. The machine and me are one.
Rode conservatively through the construction zone around Montlake, then snaked into the northbound I-5 stuff. Torque is good. Left I-5 at Lake City Way and rode past the old site of Ride West. History. What a great place that was. Thank you, Keith. Rode on, passing many Subarus and Priuses (what's the plural for a f**kin' Prius? The roads are full of those slow f**ks.) I somehow managed to get to Seattle BMW. Parked my sled. Went in the front door. Stopped at the automatic coffee machine and got a cuppa. FOX ALPHA. Hung out. Talked to some folks. Caffiene kicking in. Time to go.
Rode home via Lake City Way and 522 to Duvall-Woodinville Road. I pretty much stayed quasi-legal.
You don't quit doin' it because you get old - you get old because you quit doing it.
