Added this to my Tiger but it just as easily could be added to the RS. I am very pleased with the functionality and am presently working with Chigee to get a dash unit to review as well.

Thanks for posting this video!! This looks very interesting, and a great addition to the RS bikes. Their mirrors have always (even in ‘78!) provided a great view of your shoulders, and maybe just a little traffic on either side of you. I like the radar option, and from the video it looked like it really did pick up on the “blind spots” before the approaching cars were visible in the mirrors.

You are most welcome. It is another accessory that makes me feel better about the bike. No BS accessory / farkle. Genuinely something that improves safety, and that is what gets my attention first.
I have now ridden the bike a couple more times since the installation and I have not seen any issues / false alarms / insufficient warning, etc. It works just like on the car.

I wonder if this has any effect if you're running a radar detector?

I watched with interest. I'm currently using a low tech solution to the mirrors. A couple years ago I installed a set of Hornig mirror extenders and my rearward view is excellent. Had this unit been available then I'm sure I would have installed it as the cost is less than I paid for the mirror extenders. Thanks for the review GG

I briefly wondered the same thing (then forgot about the question till now). I will have to do a video on that. Thanks for the idea. Radar detectors that look rearward might be triggered by proximity (?) even though the Chigee transponder is pointing away (rearward) from the motorcycle.

I had SW Motech mirror extenders on the BMW S1000R when I had that bike, and the current Tiger has excellent mirror coverage for me (yet another reason I bought the bike). But as you know the warning is intended for when you are not looking rearward using the excellent mirrors.
AAMOF, if the mirrors are wide enough to miss your own shoulders and your peripheral vision is not wide enough, you could conceivably miss the flashing lights on the mirrors. You want these things to be within your peripheral vision when looking straight-ahead. The Chigee dash apparently also has lights on the left and right margins which would solve that problem. I would probably not want those though ... too much warning lights flashing and would hope that the dash lights could be disabled.

I tested riding with my Escort Passport 9500iX radar detector and there was zero interaction. The SR-1 did not trigger the radar detector and the radar detector did not seem to affect the warnings from the SR-1. Video to come.

Here is the early morning video of me using the radar detector and the Chigee SR-1:

You're welcome. Should be getting the Chigee AIO-6 MAX this week to review integration not only with my old RS but also with the SR-1 radar.
