Ride down to San Fran
#1
Both my kids are chasing the mighty dollar in the states. I always said make hay while the sun shines.
You raise them to be independent to find out you only see them once or twice a year.
You may think this is political and if so delete it.
I have done the ride down to San Fran a few times but this time feels different with all the disinformation and Canadian bashing going on south of the boarder.
It feels real enough to take any maple leaf stickers off the bike to help blend in. I know most will not give a hoot but its the few that have me thinking. Personally I
don't want the attention, good or bad.
I never would have thought....

I'd have to think that it's a VERY few that would think that way.

I get it, I believe 99% of Americans are civil enough to "let bygones be bygones" and see a Canadian vehicle on the road with little thought but there's that 1% lurking in the shadows that gives me goose bumps. Being on a bike only escalates that so I'd rather not risk it. Lots of people I know have traveled south of the border with no stories to tell but I personally stay put on Canadian soil.

Yeah - I would expect that maple leafs on the bike would simply result in more invitations to dinner as we try to counter the irrational taunts and jabs from our executive branch....

The irony is that of all states, you’d think CA would be the most inclusive and welcoming.

I’m sorry that has been your experience.
