That Ninja is a nice looking bike. And what's the verdict on the S1000R, GG?

Heheheh ... I am sorely tempted ... makes no sense since I was sort of in the market for a good pre-owned Triumph Tiger 800 XCX, but ...

I know two riders with a S1000R and they really like it.
Both use them for day rides and haul it when going to different states.
I like the looks of this one. She was trying to sell it last year, don't know if it sold.
I noticed the seller has the quick release Wonderlich tank bag.
Pete has the same bag on his R and is happy with it.

There was some minor updates to the S1000R. Horsepower went from 160 to 165.
Anyone remember the other updates and when it happened.

I believe in 2017 ..? In that year the Akra exhaust was also included standard.

Yes, it is a nice tank bag and not too big for aesthetics (bad for functionality). A tail bag like the one you showed would be necessary if commuting.

Makes sense, that's the years for the emission changes.

Here's pictures of the waterproof tail bag. I think it's a dirt bike bag.

Heheheh ... I am sorely tempted ... makes no sense since I was sort of in the market for a good pre-owned Triumph Tiger 800 XCX, but ... Nice looking bike, though I never understood the purpose of the high vibration "tuning fork" handlebars instead of clip-ons. Maybe I'm just a sensitive guy.
Like what they did to the pillion.
Problem - if you throw on some panniers, a top case, and tank bag..., what's the purpose of the RS?

I saw some of those Hepco and Becker bags on a 310 GS.
I don't remember if the mounts are noticeable without the bags.

A little3 concerned about the vibration since I did not ride the bike. The handlebars feel fine , as does the fit overall.

Good point but if I got it I would not be getting luggage to go camping. That is for the RS. The S1000R would be for local riding.

Will you need bags or a top box for commuting?

I like the idea of the smaller Sport Rack and soft bag that locks to it.

Lunch and occasionally my laptop computer. Also, rain gear and puncture kit.

I wondered if you carried a laptop home.
That complicates thing on the S1000R unless you go the route of the hard top case.
You could use the Hepco&Becker hard top case for commuting and the Hepco&Becker soft tail bag for day rides.
The hard top case ruins the lines of the S1000R but you do what you got to do.

Pre-Covid-19 I wouldn't usually carry the laptop home (unless I had "homework"), but when we return to the office, we will be in shifts of 2 teams, alternating one week in the office with week home.
I agree on a hard top case ruining the lines of the bike, but so does a soft case (in my opinion). If I do get this bike it is getting neither a rack nor a hard top case.

When comes to the laptop, I'm paranoid. It's in a padded backpack.
I knocked, but the door was open.......
